is an area of outstanding natural beauty set in and around the 2 lakes in Clydach Vale. The park is located on the site of the old Cambrian colliery. A regeneration program turned the once blackened landscape into the wonderful park we have today. In and around the park we have amazing routes for both walkers and mountain bikers to enjoy the stunning views and to see the abundance of wildlife and fauna on display. The bottom lake has an island where a wide variety of birds live. The lake is also used by a local canoe club. Every day you will see people walking around the lake from early in the morning until late into the evening.
When wet we are also blessed to have some beautiful waterfalls in the top of the park too. The park has also featured on TV on numerous occasions.
In 2021 the park was given Country Park status, hence recognised as an official Welsh Country Park, this means increased support & enhancements from official council bodies, very good news for the park & the surrounding area.
